Rs. 357 crore water supply scheme approved for Kalyan-Dombivli city under Amrit Yojana

In a major development, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has approved Rs. 357 crore water supply scheme for Kalyan-Dombivli city under the ‘Amrit Yojana.’ The project aims to enhance the water supply to the city, including 27 newly included villages, and will also create a 105 Dalghami storage capacity. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed his support and appreciation for this initiative.
The approval comes after continuous efforts by MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde of Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency and MLA Rajesh More of Kalyan Rural Assembly constituency. Both leaders had relentlessly followed up on the issue, requesting urgent intervention to resolve the water shortage problem in the region.
MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde had actively pursued the issue of water supply for the 27 villages, making repeated requests to both Chief Minister Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Shinde for a resolution. Similarly, MLA Rajesh More had raised the matter during the winter session, emphasizing the need for an increased water supply in these areas. During this time, Project Manager of the Amrit Yojana, Chetan More, also engaged with local villagers to discuss the water issue.
