Eyes Belapur Assembly Seat with strong backing

In a significant political development, Sandeep Naik, along with over 28 corporators and numerous supporters, has joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Sharad Pawar. The move was marked by a welcoming ceremony where NCP state president Jayant Patil assured Naik and his followers that they would be respected and valued in the party.

In his address to the gathering, Naik expressed his gratitude towards Sharad Pawar and the NCP for the opportunity to join their ranks, highlighting the faith placed in him by the party and the residents of the Belapur constituency. "Our battle is a battle for the honour of Belapur and the self-respect of the workers," Naik asserted, pledging to focus on development and address the constituency's long standing issues.

Naik acknowledged Pawar's long standing support for Navi Mumbai, referencing key initiatives such as the twelve and a half percent land allocation plan for project-affected residents, housing for Mathadi workers, and the strategic acquisition of Morbe Dam. "Sharad Pawar has always protected the interests of Navi Mumbai," he noted, crediting the leader's efforts for the city's current water security.

Criticizing the current Belapur MLA, Naik accused him of neglecting the needs and dignity of the workers over the past decade. "The Belapur MLA has insulted the workers, and we will not tolerate this any longer," he declared, framing his campaign as one aimed at restoring the dignity of the workers and ensuring the city's development. He emphasized that the struggle was not about individual ambitions but about ensuring respect and progress for the community.

Jayant Patil, in his remarks, praised Naik's leadership qualities and vision for development, expressing confidence in the strength of Belapur's workers. "I believe that the NCP candidate will win from this constituency with a record number of votes," Patil said, signalling the party's readiness for the upcoming electoral battle.

As the NCP prepares to announce its candidates, the recent developments have fuelled optimism among Naik's supporters, who see his candidacy as a vital step towards a prosperous future for Belapur.
