Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has declared that the upcoming assembly elections are not merely a political contest, but a crucial battle to protect the essence of Mumbai and Maharashtra. In a campaign meeting for M. K. Madhavi, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) candidate for the Airoli Assembly constituency, Raut launched a fierce attack on the ruling BJP and the rebel Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde.

Raut accused Adani and Ambani of attempting to take control of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, respectively. He criticized their influence, stating that "Mumbai has been given to Adani and Navi Mumbai to Ambani," and added that they were strategically positioning themselves in locations that would benefit them. He further claimed that a Marathi man was being relegated to the status of an outsider by traitors within the state, who were backing these corporate interests.

Raut emphasized that the fight in these elections is to preserve the identity of Marathi people and the legacy of Shiv Sena, which has always fought for the rights of the locals. "This is not just an election, but a battle to save Mumbai and Maharashtra," he declared.

The meeting, held at Annasaheb Patil Maidan in Koparkhairane, saw a strong turnout of supporters from the region, including Mathadi workers and local residents. Raut also slammed the policies of the BJP-led government, particularly criticizing the violation of the rule that mandates 80% of industrial jobs be given to locals. He pointed out the growing unemployment in Navi Mumbai and blamed the policies of the "Khoke government" for worsening the situation.
