A significant delay has occurred in the ongoing development at the Cycle Track in Sector 19A, Nerul, due to an oversight by the garden department contractor. The situation was brought to light by concerned residents who noted that pits had been dug for planting saplings, but the actual saplings were not delivered to the site as scheduled.
The attached images depict the area where the pits have been prepared, but without the presence of any saplings, leaving the ground barren. The first image shows the freshly dug pits lined up systematically, ready to accommodate new saplings. The current state of the area, which remains unattended, raises concerns about the project’s progress and the potential delay in greenery enhancement.
Citizens have taken to social media to voice their disappointment and bring the matter to the attention of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and local authorities. Naren, tagged NMMC's official account (@NMMConline) criticised the contractor for the oversight, he said. “The garden department contractor has just dug pits but forgot to bring saplings at Cycle Track Sector 19A, Nerul.”
He has also tagged MLA Manda Mhatre to draw her attention to the issue.
