Navi Mumbai: The Agri Koli Auditorium, Nerul, recently hosted the 2nd Annual Day of the Shreeram Radhakrishnan Memorial Trust’s 12 Shikshaangans, free academic coaching centres for underprivileged students across Navi Mumbai and Thane.
Children from centres in New Panvel, Khandeshwar, Belapur Gaon, CBD, Bonsari, Rabale, Digha, Kalwa, and Thane presented vibrant performances on themes such as Indian festivals, women’s empowerment, the life of Dr Anandibai Joshi, Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s contributions, and the value of education.
Despite limited space, students practised for two months—some even on roads, with guidance from their teachers. The three-hour programme, flawlessly anchored by Trust Manager Mr Ajit Khatal and teacher Ms Supriya Koli, opened with a welcome song and lamp lighting.
An inspiring talk by Mr Prateesh Nair emphasised compassion over wealth. Seven buses transported over 475 children and parents, all of whom were served dinner. The event left children motivated and eager for future celebrations.
