St. Augustine’s celebrate Republic Day with patriotic fervor

St. Augustine’s High School, Nerul celebrated the 76th Republic Day on  with great enthusiasm to commemorate the spirit of Patriotism and the very essence of Democracy.

The celebrations commence with the flag unfurling ceremony at the hands of the Guests of Honour who earlier were felicitated by the Head Mistress of the SSC Board institute. Worthy of its effort, a systematic March Past and the Guard of honour was done by the students of various squads of the School which signified discipline, methodology, perseverance and was followed by the prayer session and welcome speeches and songs in different languages of India.

In order to infuse the sentiments of patriotism, a scintillating Patriotic Dance was performed by the students as part of a specially curated cultural programme. The captivating Maharashtra’s traditional state dance of Lezim along with those from other parts of the country very artistically portrayed the spectacular diversity of India.

Everyone’s hearts were moved with the delivery of our Chief Guests’ deeply enriching and patriotic speeches.

Earlier tree saplings were planted by the invited Guests for the day in the school premises. To mark the auspicious occasion of the 76th Republic Day and to spread the message of a Green Environment, a tree plantation programme by the young students too was held in nearby three housing societies. The school management signed off the grand celebrations by distributing sweets and snacks to all its students and staff members.

In her Republic day congratulatory message Headmistress, Sameera Mane, applauded the hard work and efforts of all as also thanked the Guests of Honour from different walks of life for gracing the occasion with their valuable presence on the day, She emphasized the importance of upholding democratic values and the need to contribute to the nation-building by each and every citizen of India irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
