Students of F G Naik College celebrate Rakshabandhan with differently-abled children at e.t.c Centre

Navi Mumbai: Students from F G Naik College in Koparkhairane marked Rakshabandhan in a heartfelt and inclusive manner by tying rakhis on the differently-abled children of the e.t.c Centre in Vashi. This unique celebration not only honoured the traditional festival but also highlighted the college’s commitment to social responsibility.

The Rakshabandhan festivities were complemented by a rakhi-making competition organized by the college's Department of Culture. The competition aimed to showcase students' talents and emphasize the importance of traditional festivals. Around 100 students participated, creating a variety of beautiful and imaginative rakhis.

The college’s National Service Scheme (NSS) students played a key role in the celebration by tying rakhis on the children from the ETC centre. In return, the differently-abled children enthusiastically presented gifts to the NSS students, adding a special touch to the occasion.

The event was attended by Principal Pratap Mahadik, Chairperson of the Cultural Department Prof. Jayashree Dahat, and other faculty members including Prof. Samidha Patil, Prof. Seema Shinde, Prof. Prajakta Sawant, Prof. Dheeraj Junghare, and Program Officer of NSS Prof. Pramod Salunkhe, along with Dr. Kavita Pawar. The celebration saw a large turnout of students and staff, reinforcing the college’s commitment to fostering creativity and social engagement.
