Thane Congress suspends 8 members for anti-party activities during assembly elections

The Thane City District Congress Committee has suspended eight members for anti-party activities during the recently held assembly elections. Thane City District Congress President Adv. Vikrant Chavhan announced that the members were found violating party discipline by opposing the party's mission and policies.
Suresh Patil-Khede, Vice President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress OBC Cell, has been expelled from the party for six years following instructions from senior leaders. Patil-Khede contested the elections as an independent candidate, disregarding the party's directives.
Among others, Brijesh Chaurasia (Ward President), Jayaprakash Ved (Ward President), Santosh Joshi (Block President), Gulabsingh Yadav (Vice President, North Indian Cell), Manzoor Khatri (Head, Social Media), and Girish Koli (General Secretary, Thane City District Congress) were found to have supported independent candidate Manoj Shinde's campaign. Rekha Mirajkar was implicated for her involvement in the campaign of rebel candidate Suresh Patil-Khede.
Adv. Chavhan stated that the disciplinary actions, which include suspensions until further notice, aim to uphold the integrity of the party and reinforce adherence to its principles.
