Thane Police conducts comprehensive 'All Out Operation' to ensure peace ahead of Assembly Elections

Thane: In a major effort to strengthen peace and security ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Thane Police carried out a wide-reaching 'All Out Operation' under the leadership of Police Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbre and Joint Commissioner Dr. Dnyaneshwar Chavan. The operation, conducted between 11 p.m. on November 9 and 2 a.m. on November 10, mobilized 312 police officers and 1,288 personnel from various units, including the Local Crime Branch and Traffic Branch, to curb crime and bolster public safety.

During the operation, the police seized 43 illegal weapons, including 31 country-made pistols, 7 machetes, and 5 swords, leading to the arrest of 41 individuals under the Arms Act. This decisive action is seen as a critical move to curb violent crime and ensure public safety.

Thane Police also cracked down on illegal liquor activities, registering 57 cases and confiscating illicit alcohol worth ₹5,07,484, while arresting 185 individuals. This operation dealt a significant blow to the illegal liquor trade in the city.

As part of the campaign, 179 people were fined under the Kotpa Act for selling tobacco products in public places, aiming to reduce public tobacco consumption and create a healthier environment.

The police also inspected 74 hotels, 64 lodges, 39 beer bars, and 42 dance bars to ensure compliance with law and order regulations, creating a heightened sense of security among residents.

The operation saw focused surveillance of individuals with criminal records, resulting in 59 individuals being monitored, 50 listed under the Tadipaar Act, and 31 known gangsters being targeted. Additionally, 47 individuals were detained under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act.

In its anti-narcotics efforts, the police detained 15 individuals for drug consumption, registering cases to address the issue of drug abuse.

The Traffic Department also played a key role by inspecting 1,210 vehicles and taking action against 2,149 for violations under the Motor Vehicle Act, collecting fines totaling ₹18,58,750.
