Thane is set for a major upgrade with the construction of an 11-storey railway station that will double as a commercial hub. This modern facility will go beyond serving as a transit point, featuring retail outlets, office spaces, and entertainment zones, offering passengers a range of amenities alongside transportation services.

The station is being developed near Platform 10A of Thane railway station, spread over 9,000 square meters. In addition to transport facilities, the project will include 24,280 square meters of commercial space, available for lease for up to 60 years. The project is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026, and is designed to generate significant revenue for the government while enhancing the city's transport infrastructure.

Seamless connectivity is a key focus of the redevelopment. The station will be linked to metro and bus networks to ensure smooth passenger movement. A 2.24-km elevated road will directly connect it to the Eastern Express Highway, while a dedicated bus deck near Platform 10 will streamline multi-modal transport.

The new station will feature modern amenities such as basement parking, retail shops, shopping centres, food courts, restaurants, entertainment areas, and office spaces. The project is jointly carried by the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) and Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA). This initiative will transform Thane's railway station into a state-of-the-art transport hub while also catering to the city's growing commercial and urban needs.
