This initiative aims to bring joy to the employees and acknowledge their contributions as the festival approaches.

Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao has been thanked by both Asha Sevaks and TMC employees for the timely disbursement of these funds, which were arranged in advance of the Diwali celebrations.

The Thane Municipal Corporation, which employs approximately 6,300 staff members in grades 2 to 4, along with 736 employees from the Education Department, 1,493 permanent employees from the Thane Transport Service, and 365 direct contract employees, has collectively issued a Diwali gift totalling Rs. 24,000. The total amount distributed, including salaries and subsidies, is around Rs. 22 crore.

According to Commissioner Saurabh Rao, the administration had made a concerted effort to ensure that all financial distributions including salaries for October and the Diwali gift were completed prior to the festival. The process was coordinated with the relevant contractors to ensure that all welfare subsidies and dues were properly managed and delivered to the employees.
