Thane Municipal Corporation Prepares Polling Stations for Elections with Extensive Cleanliness Drive

In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections on November 20, a thorough cleanliness drive was carried out across all polling stations and their surroundings in the Thane Municipal Corporation area. The campaign, which began on Saturday, focused on cleaning the polling stations and the surrounding 100-meter radius, including public toilets, footpaths, roads leading to the stations, squares, and traffic bifurcations in Kalwa, Mumbra, and Diva Ward Committee areas.

The cleanliness drive was conducted under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao, with active participation from Additional Commissioner Prashant Rode, Deputy Commissioner Manish Joshi, Health Officer Dr. Rani Shinde, and Assistant Commissioner Sachin Borse. The team cleaned the polling station areas in Kalwa, ensuring that the premises were ready for the upcoming elections.

On this occasion, a collective oath was taken by the officials, cleaning staff, and sanitation inspectors, pledging to vote and maintain cleanliness during the election period.

This extensive campaign will cover a total of 1528 polling stations across 367 locations in the city, with the involvement of 1390 employees. The cleaning process will continue across various ward committees in the coming days. On Sunday, November 17, the focus will shift to cleaning the polling stations in Manpada-Majiwada, Vartak Nagar, and Uthalsar ward committee areas. On Monday, November 18, polling stations in Naupada-Kopri, Wagle Estate, and Lokmanya Nagar-Savarkar Nagar ward committees will be cleaned.
