The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, Zilla Parishad, Thane, and the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), will organize a measurement and assessment camp for artificial limbs. The camp will cater to disabled certificate holders and senior citizens above the age of 60 in the Kalwa, Mumbra, and Diva wards of Thane Municipal Corporation.

The camp will be held on the 21st and 22nd of January at the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Sports Complex in Mumbra. The primary aim of this camp is to conduct measurements and evaluations for the distribution of various assistive devices under the ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons) Scheme and the RVY (Rajiv Gandhi Vayoshri) Scheme.

The camp will focus on registering beneficiaries and taking measurements for the materials to be distributed later. According to the Social Development Officer, Dashrath Waghmare, no materials will be distributed during the camp; only the registration and measurement processes will be completed.

Further, for differently-abled individuals, various items such as tricycles, wheelchairs, battery-powered motorized tricycles, crutches, hearing aids, Braille canes, smartphones, and artificial limbs will be distributed under the ADIP scheme. For senior citizens, the RVY scheme provides equipment such as wheelchairs with commodes, crutches, walking sticks, hearing aids, and knee braces.
