TMT arranges special bus service for election duty employees

In preparation for the Assembly Elections to be held on November 20, the Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) has made special bus arrangements for employees assigned to election duties. A total of 173 buses have been deployed to ensure that these employees can reach their respective polling stations and duties on time.
On Tuesday, TMT began offering bus services from 6 AM to 9 AM from Thane Railway Station West to various election-related locations, including Thane SATIS to Horizon School, Thane SATIS to Wagle Estate-ITI, and Thane SATIS to Bethany Hospital. This service was specifically designed to help employees commute to their designated places of appointment.
In addition, a night bus service will be available on Wednesday, between 8 PM and 12 midnight, to transport employees back to Thane Station after completing their election duties. The routes for the return service will cover Horizon School, Wagle Estate-ITI, and Bethany Hospital, as confirmed by Transport Manager Bhalchandra Behre.
Meanwhile, Thane Municipal Corporation’s (TMC) Commissioner Saurabh Rao has urged all citizens to exercise their right to vote, emphasizing that voting is a national duty and a key part of celebrating democracy.
In preparation for the elections, a thorough cleanliness drive was conducted across polling booths and surrounding areas in the Thane municipal area from November 16 to 18. The campaign focused on cleaning the booths and the 100-meter area surrounding them. The initiative involved 1,390 employees and covered 1,528 polling booths across 367 locations, in coordination with the Solid Waste Management Department, Local Ward Committees, and Election Returning Officers. Deputy Commissioner (Solid Waste Management) Manish Joshi confirmed the extensive efforts to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for voters.
