commuters express discontent

The closure of the public toilet at the Kharghar toll plaza on the Sion-Panvel highway has led to significant inconvenience for commuters.

The toilet, constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD), was closed six months ago due to its deteriorating condition. After extensive renovation, the facility was expected to reopen for public use. However, despite the completion of the renovation work nearly 2-3 months ago, the toilet remains closed, causing frustration among travellers.

The Kharghar toll plaza, located after the Khalapur toll plaza for those travelling from Pune, is a frequent stop for many passengers seeking relief during their journey. Commuters, who rely on the facility for basic amenities, have voiced their displeasure over the continued closure, highlighting the lack of public services at a crucial stop along a busy highway.
