Navi Mumbai: In a major relief for commuters at Turbhe Naka, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has reinstated the bus stop at its original location following sustained demands from local residents and consistent follow-up by BJP leader Suresh Gaikwad.
The bus stop was relocated further away due to the construction of a new building in the area. This change significantly impacted women, school and college students, and senior citizens, who were forced to walk long distances to access public transport, causing daily inconvenience.
Concerned about the hardships faced by commuters, Suresh Gaikwad submitted a formal letter to the NMMC Commissioner, urging the administration to restore the bus stop to its previous location.
He also warned of protests if immediate action was not taken. His persistent efforts prompted the authorities to act swiftly, leading to the reinstatement of the bus stop at its original site.
The decision has been met with widespread appreciation from local residents, who have expressed their gratitude to Suresh Gaikwad for championing their cause. The relocation work is set to be completed soon, ensuring easier access to public transport and significant relief for daily commuters.
