Two arrested for helping Bangladeshi nationals secure bank accounts

Kopar Khairane: Two people, including a woman, were arrested for helping Bangladeshi nationals open a bank account and make financial transactions through the accounts.
The duo was identified as Jabir Yunus Sheikh and Nusrat Arshad Qazi, both residents of Kopar Khairane.
The duo was arrested on intel inputs provided by a team of Meghalaya Police.
According to police, the Bangladeshis numbering around 20 were residing in Navi Mumbai for the last 3-4 months. However, with Navi Mumbai police coming down heavily on Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in the city, the group was forced to leave the city for Meghalaya.
The Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by the Meghalaya police. Acting on intelligence provided by the Meghalaya Police, Navi Mumbai police helped track down Sheikh and Qazi, from Kopar Khairane sector-12B.
The operation was led by Ajaykumar Landge, ACP Crime Branch.
