Ulhasnagar Municipal schools set for transformation under Commissioner Vikas Dhakne

Ulhasnagar: In a significant move to enhance educational standards in the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (ULMC), Commissioner Vikas Dhakne has initiated a transformative plan for local schools. Following his recent inspections of municipal schools No. 5, 13, 14, 19, and 29, Dhakne aims to revitalize these institutions and promote quality education.

Highlighting the recent trend of parents shifting from private to municipal schools in light of closures in other cities, Dhakne envisions a similar change in Ulhasnagar. He intends to model four schools across different wards to elevate their educational quality and facilities.

During his visit, Dhakne interacted with students, assessing their learning environment and gathering feedback on the existing resources. He emphasized the need for improvement and has mandated the concerned authorities to implement a plan for one CBSE board school and one English medium school.

Deputy Chief Accounts Officer Neelam Kadam confirmed that preparations for the revamp of the four identified schools, along with the establishment of the new English and CBSE schools, will commence shortly.

Commissioner Dhakne stated, “We aim to prioritize sports and overall development in these schools, ensuring that students have access to adequate facilities. Our goal is to make municipal schools more attractive to families, particularly those with financial constraints.”
