Following the assembly elections, Navi Mumbai is facing a renewed problem of unauthorized hoardings, with advertisements of victorious candidates prominently displayed without permission. This rampant violation has marred the city's appearance despite clear orders from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde to take strict action against such illegal activities in line with a Bombay High Court directive.
Political party workers have blatantly disregarded these orders, leading to questions about the effectiveness of municipal enforcement. The unchecked proliferation of these hoardings has also resulted in significant revenue losses for the NMMC, with the administration appearing indifferent to the issue.
Unauthorized hoardings have been spotted in several prominent locations, including Fort Gaothan Chowk, Turbhe Naka, Arenja Circle, Koparkhairane D Mart, Airoli Sector 5 Chowk, Gaymukh Chowk, and near major landmarks such as Kokan Bhawan in CBD Belapur and the Rajiv Gandhi Flyover. These illegal advertisements have also extended to job posters and commercial promotions, adding to the city's visual clutter.
