To visit city on Tuesday

Navi Mumbai: As assembly elections approach, the BJP is gearing up to strategize for upcoming contests, with Union Minister Amit Shah set to visit Navi Mumbai on Tuesday, 1st October. His visit is part of a broader effort to assess the party's performance in the Konkan Division, specifically focusing on the assembly constituencies in Thane, Palghar, and surrounding districts.

The timing of Shah's visit comes on the heels of Mahavikas Aghadi's impressive performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections, where the BJP suffered a setback, losing 14 seats compared to the previous elections in 2019. This has prompted the party to take a more cautious approach as it prepares for the state assembly elections, ensuring they do not lose further ground.

During his visit, Shah is expected to engage with local BJP workers at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi, discussing strategies to reclaim lost support and secure victories in the crucial assembly seats. The meeting aims to address concerns regarding challenges posed by Shinde supporters in Navi Mumbai, particularly from local leaders Vijay Chaugule and Vijay Nahata.

BJP workers are keenly observing whether candidates will be announced for these pivotal seats during Shah’s discussions, as the party seeks to solidify its position in the region ahead of the elections.
