The suspension of Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) bus services in Uran for several months has severely impacted the daily commute of students, employees, and businesspeople. With no public transport available, residents have been left to rely on costly and unreliable private transportation, leading to significant delays and inconvenience.

Local commuters, particularly those traveling to Navi Mumbai for work and education, are facing high fares and harassment from private vehicle operators. In light of these challenges, members of the Uran City Congress Committee, alongside representatives from the Morning Katta and senior citizens, met with Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde to demand the urgent resumption of NMMT bus services.

The delegation highlighted the widespread frustration of Uran residents, emphasizing how the absence of reliable public transport has disrupted daily routines. In a show of support, a signature campaign was organized to further press for the resumption of bus services.

Responding to the concerns, Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde assured the residents that steps would be taken to restore NMMT bus services in Uran as quickly as possible. Present at the meeting were Uran City Congress Committee President Prakash Patil, Abhay Ved Pathak, former corporator Afsha Mukari, and other local leaders, all of whom stressed the necessity of the service for the community's well-being.
