In a vibrant display of creativity and awareness, the Uran Traffic Police Branch recently organised a painting competition at Shri Bhagubai Changu Thakur Vidyalaya in Navghar, Uran, as part of the Road Safety Campaign 2025.

The event, which aimed to raise awareness about road safety among young minds, saw a tremendous response from the students, with 307 participants from classes 6 to 9.

The competition, held under the guidance of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner, received enthusiastic support from the school and the local police department. Senior Police Inspector Atul Dahiphale of the Uran Traffic Branch presided over the event, felicitating the top three winners from each class.

Twelve students, who secured the first, second, and third positions, were presented with trophies and certificates by Dahiphale.

In addition to these winners, all other participants were also recognised for their involvement, with certificates awarded to encourage their active participation in spreading the message of road safety through their artwork.

The competition’s focus was on educating students about the growing concerns of traffic accidents and the increasing number of vehicles, emphasising the importance of following traffic rules.

Addressing the students, Senior Police Inspector Dahiphale took the opportunity to guide them on safe road practices.

He commended the students for effectively communicating vital road safety messages through their paintings, acknowledging their creativity and commitment to raising awareness.

“The rising number of vehicles and traffic-related accidents is a critical issue, and it is vital that we all contribute to making our roads safer,” Dahiphale said. “Through these creative expressions, these young minds have played an important role in spreading awareness, and I applaud them for their efforts.”

The competition was made possible due to the valuable cooperation of the school’s principal, Mrs. Thakur, who supported the initiative wholeheartedly.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the school chairman, Chandrakant Gharat, Police Constables Pramod Patil, Amol Budhanwar, Prashant Pujari, Nilesh More, as well as other members of the teaching staff.

With the successful completion of the competition, the Uran Traffic Branch aims to continue engaging with the community to instil better road safety practices.
