In a bid to increase voter engagement and turnout, the Election Commission has introduced a unique initiative to beautify polling stations across Panvel, making them a model for the state. As part of this initiative, 11 polling stations in the 188 Panvel Vidhan Sabha Constituency were enhanced with vibrant decorations, including 6 in Panvel Rural and 5 in Panvel Urban. This initiative, which follows the 'Pink Polling Stations' model, aims to create a more inviting and accessible voting experience for all citizens.

The beautification project includes a range of voter-friendly features such as helplines, Sakhi voter centres, and special provisions for senior citizens and disabled voters, ensuring that everyone is encouraged to participate in the electoral process. The initiative has been spearheaded by key officials such as Election Decision Officer Pawan Chandak, Panvel Municipal Corporation's Mangesh Chitale, Assistant Election Decision Officer Sandip Karad, and other local authorities who collaborated to make these polling stations exemplary.

To further boost voter participation, five model polling stations in Panvel Urban areas were set up under the Election Commission’s SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) program. These stations were decorated with unique themes that showcased Maharashtra's cultural and historical heritage. The themes included "Vitthal Wari," "Olympics," "Warli Painting," "Maharashtra Textile," and "Fort Heritage," each offering a glimpse into a different aspect of the state’s identity.

One of the standout features of these polling stations was the inclusion of selfie points, which proved to be a hit with voters. For example, at Sudhagad High School in Kalamboli, the polling station was adorned with the "Wari" theme, and voters were presented with tulsi saplings as a token of appreciation. In Kharghar, the Adarsh Polling Station was decorated with a "Paithani" theme, while St. Joseph’s High School in New Panvel featured an "Olympic Games" theme, highlighting the achievements of India’s Olympic athletes. CKT College’s Adarsh Polling Station showcased a "Gad Kille" (Fort Heritage) theme, celebrating Maharashtra's historic forts and the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj. Meanwhile, the Nere polling station embraced the "Warli Painting" theme, providing voters with a glimpse into the indigenous art form.
