Kalyan: Hundreds of angry women from Kalyan West marched to the KDMC (Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation) headquarters to protest against severe water shortages and inadequate road infrastructure in their areas. The protest, dubbed the "Matka March," highlighted the distress faced by residents who are forced to travel long distances for a bucketful of water due to the mismanagement of the administration.

Residents from areas such as Beturkarpada, Chikanghar, and Maatlaav have been struggling with both water scarcity and contaminated water supply. Despite multiple complaints to the KDMC administration, the citizens have reported receiving only empty assurances, leading to widespread frustration. During the march, women carried empty bowls and expressed their anger by breaking pots in front of the KDMC office, symbolizing their grievances regarding the water crisis.

Protesters held banners and chanted slogans demanding immediate action from the authorities. One protester remarked, "We pay our water bills diligently, yet we often face severe shortages. If we are late in our payments, we are penalized with interest, but when it comes to receiving water, there is no accountability."

Umesh Borgaonkar, President of the Khadakpada Traders Residents' Association, voiced his anger at the situation, questioning when the water shortage problem would be resolved. He warned that if the KDMC administration fails to take prompt and effective measures, concerned officials may face further protests.
