Put garlands and black ribbons on unused garbage collection vehicles

Members of the Workers and Peasants Party (WPP) expressed their discontent with the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) for its alleged negligence in utilising 50 recently acquired 'Ghanta Gadi' vehicles meant for collecting garbage in Panvel city. The protestors, including WPP Kamothe City President Amol Shitole, Vice President Nitin Pagare, Working President Gaurav Porwal, Organizer Alpesh Mane, and Suresh, staged a demonstration on the occasion of Vijayadashami.

Raising their concerns, the protesters performed a ceremonial puja for the neglected vehicles and symbolically adorned them with black ribbons to draw the attention of the municipal administration. The vehicles, procured through a speedy tender process, have remained unused and have gathered dust over the past five months at the sewage disposal centre in Kamothe, prompting the WPP members to question the rationale behind the corporation's inaction.

Amol Shitole, the WPP Kamothe City President, highlighted the municipal corporation's refusal to collect garbage, citing purported issues with the vehicle's quality and quantity. He emphasized the need for immediate action to address the concerns of the local community and to ensure that the acquired resources are put to effective use as intended.
