Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has addressed the mixed reactions to the music of Ramayana, saying he focuses on his creative process rather than closely following social media discussions.
In an interview, Rahman said his son keeps him informed about public reactions. The debate has centred on Mangal Rang, featuring Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, and Ravana Tandav, which initially drew criticism before receiving appreciation from some listeners.
Rahman described composing for the epic, which will feature music in five languages, as an honour and a major responsibility. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana.
