Ambernath: The railway administration organised a public interaction programme at Ambernath railway station to address commuters’ grievances and discuss improvements to passenger facilities.

Municipal president Tejashree Karanjule raised concerns about poor cleanliness around the station and urged officials to take corrective measures. She assured the railway administration of the municipality’s cooperation in organising cleanliness drives.

Senior social worker Yusuf Sheikh and Khanji Dhal highlighted the slow progress of the staircase connecting the main foot overbridge to platform three, the dilapidated condition of railway toilets and the nuisance caused by unauthorised hawkers on station premises.

Commuters also voiced concerns over frequent delays in local train services, inadequate drinking water facilities on platforms and the presence of beggars, drug addicts and stray animals within the station area.

Passengers further complained that commuters from Ulhasnagar and Vithalwadi boarded trains originating from Ambernath, leaving local passengers struggling to find space.

Railway official Jitendra Jha said the administration was committed to resolving passenger grievances and stressed that public cooperation was essential to address the issues effectively.

Corporator Nikhil Chaudhari, Vishwajit Karanjule, railway officials and a large number of commuters attended the interaction programme.
