Delhi Police have denied permission for singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, scheduled for October 30, citing security concerns and law-and-order considerations.
The concert is part of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour. According to reports, a letter from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, addressed to ticketing platform BookMyShow, stated that the request to organise the event had been examined but could not be approved.
The letter reportedly referred to specific threat-related inputs and security commitments during the ongoing festive season.
The decision has come as a setback for fans awaiting the singer’s Delhi performance. The concert had earlier been rescheduled from November 1 to October 30 following an appeal to respect the sentiments of families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh violence.
Further details about the organisers’ next steps and ticket arrangements are awaited.
