Kalyan: The repair work of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) school at Pisavali in Kalyan taluka, which began during the monsoon, has remained incomplete even after nearly two months, leaving students to face severe inconvenience.

The school building has been taken over by the contractor for repair work, but the delay in completion has forced students from Classes 1 to 8 to study in an alternative location. Around 128 students are currently attending classes at a Buddhist community hall in Pisavali.

The temporary arrangement, however, lacks basic facilities such as drinking water and toilets. Students also have no proper space for recreational activities, causing difficulties for both students and teachers.

The repair work began on August 3, but parents have expressed concern over the prolonged delay. Residents have alleged that the education department has failed to ensure timely completion of infrastructure projects, affecting students' learning environment.

When contacted, the taluka education department said the repair work at Pisavali school was underway, though no clear timeline was provided for its completion.

Parents and students have demanded that the repair work be expedited and that the school building be made available at the earliest, ensuring proper facilities are restored for students.
