Ulhasnagar: The Vitthalwadi Police and Ulhasnagar Crime Branch have arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of a youth in the Subhash Tekdi area, solving the case within hours of the incident.

The deceased, identified as Rohit Jagdale, was allegedly attacked over a previous dispute on Friday midnight. According to police, a group assaulted Jagdale with paver blocks and stabbed him with a knife, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Following the murder, police launched an investigation under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Chandrahar Godse. Officials analysed CCTV footage from the area, recorded statements of eyewitnesses and used technical intelligence to trace the suspects.

The five accused arrested in the case have been identified as Pratham Bankar, Atish Manohar, Aniket Kharat alias Tom, Sahil Mhaske and Pratik Kshetre.

Police are now investigating the motive behind the attack, the details of the alleged past rivalry and whether any other persons were involved in the crime.

The swift action by the police teams has brought a major breakthrough in the case, while further investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events leading to the murder and gather additional evidence.
