Panvel: The ‘Panvel’s Vighnaharta’ Ganeshotsav organised by Jagruti People’s Association and Ashtavinayak Mitra Mandal in Sector 8, New Panvel, received an enthusiastic response from young students of St. Wilfred School. Students from playgroup to Class 2, along with their teachers, visited the mandal and sought blessings of Lord Ganesha.

The children participated in the darshan with great excitement and offered prayers to Lord Ganesha. The visit was organised with the objective of introducing students to Indian culture, traditions and the values of social responsibility through the medium of Ganeshotsav.

The ten-day festival, organised every year by the mandal, is being celebrated with devotion along with various social, cultural and awareness programmes. The celebrations have attracted residents as well as educational institutions from the surrounding areas.

The organisers said that the initiative aims to make Ganeshotsav a platform not only for religious celebrations but also for community participation and social awareness. The presence of the young students added a special charm to the festivities, as they experienced the cultural significance of the festival.

Known as ‘Panvel’s Vighnaharta’, the Ganeshotsav has emerged as a prominent celebration in the area, combining devotion with social initiatives and encouraging participation from people across age groups.
