Three held for shop theft
Kalyan: Vishnunagar police have arrested three people in connection with a shop burglary in Kalyan, where nine mobile phones, chargers and Rs 6,500 in cash were allegedly stolen after the shop shutter was broken.
The theft was reported at Vishnunagar Police Station on September 17, 2026. A case was registered under Crime Register No. 246/2026 under Sections 331(4), 305(A) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The stolen goods were valued at around Rs.30,000.
Following the complaint, police inspected the spot and examined CCTV footage from the area. Based on the footage and subsequent investigation, police arrested Tajumal Kamrul Khan (24), a native of Kishanganj, Bihar; Ashfaq Asiruddin Alam (32) of APMC Market, Turbhe; and Nazim Mohammad Jalal Sheikh (21), also from APMC Market, Turbhe.
Police recovered all nine stolen mobile phones from the accused. The three were produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody. They were subsequently sent to Aadharwadi Jail.
The operation was carried out by Vishnunagar police under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ram Chopde.
