Panvel Cha Chintamani draws thousands of devotees

Panvel Cha Raja ‘Chintamani’ is celebrating its 16th year with grand festivities, attracting thousands of devotees during Ganeshotsav. Organised by Hari Om Samajik Mitra Mandal, the celebration is being held at an eco-friendly 30x40x40-foot pandal at Plot No. 42, Sector 4, New Panvel.
The pandal features a Shiv-Parvati theme, with large cut-outs of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The main attraction is a magnificent 25-foot idol of Chintamani, accompanied by Riddhi and Siddhi. The idol’s feet and right palm are adorned with gold plating.
Around 6,000–7,000 devotees are visiting Chintamani Darbar every day. Daily aarti is conducted at 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., drawing large crowds.
“This year it is our sincere effort to prevail peace and harmony in society through Ganesh Festivity, encouraging people to be more faithful to Lord Shiva and Parvati, avoid scuffles, and maintain peace,” said Mandal President Mayur Shelke.
Alongside religious celebrations, the Mandal is focusing on social welfare by organising free medical services, including complete health check-ups, eye examinations, spectacles, and glare goggles.
Vice President Aswin Dicholka said, “This year we have invited children from orphanages for Maha Prasad. We are also organizing a tree plantation drive to spread awareness on environmental conservation.”
The celebration combines faith, community service, and environmental awareness, reinforcing the Mandal’s commitment to social responsibility during Ganeshotsav.
